Merry Christmas from SJC!

During this Christmas season, here at Saint Joseph’s College we are blessed and grateful for everyone who has helped us achieve the success we have had so far. We are blessed with a great staff that works tirelessly to keep the campus running and beautiful, students happy and successful, and alumni and community well informed. The time and effort given and the love for the College is present every day and it shows with the continued growth and success of our students.

One example of Pumas going above and beyond is our new instructor in the phlebotomy program. Valorie Dunn, BSN, RN, CRNI, PLNC received her Bachelors of Registered Nursing from Saint Joseph’s College in 1993. Ready for a fresh start, Valorie decided she needed something more and enrolled in the College to follow her dream of becoming a nurse. This past fall we welcomed her to our teaching staff where she is finishing up with her first class of phlebotomy students this winter.

Valorie says “I LOVE Saint Joseph’s College. I was drawn here when I decided that I wanted to be a nurse. I got the best education here and this College made me the nurse I am today. I am fortunate to be able to help educate these students to be the best that they can be as Certified Phlebotomists.”

In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ – Acts 20:35

The Saint Joe alumni are a special group of people. I’m sure there are thousands of stories of alumni doing extraordinary acts of kindness and giving. Through many years of College history, alumni have given back in many ways. Alumni have helped students and new graduates land fantastic jobs and internships. Alumni have brought prospective students to the College and shared their experiences. Alumni have come to campus to lecture in classes and share their real-world experiences with the students. Alumni have prayed for the College success during the good times and the bad.

We are asking you today to continue to give. Pray for us. Share with others our successes. Tell fellow alumni who might not get updates, about the campus news. When we invite you to gather, join us. If you are able, make a monetary donation. Continue the Puma legacy of selflessness. Help us to graduate new Pumas!
