Alumni and Donor Meetings Postponed
As all of you know, the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve very quickly. Both the spread of the virus and the responses to mitigate that spread (PK-12 school closings, daycare closings, etc.) have impacted all of our lives in some way. To assist with social distancing and to diminish transmission of the disease, we will be postponing our alumni meetings regarding the comprehensive 3-year plan until the pandemic has calmed. We pray all of our alumni and friends of the College stay safe and healthy during this uncertain time.
Registration is Open for Medical Certification Programs at SJC
Now accepting applications for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) classes beginning this spring! Scholarships are available.
Classes are also forming for certified clinical medical assistant (CCMA), certified electrocardiogram technician (CET), and certified phlebotomy technician (CPT). Earning these certifications are an excellent launching pad for furthering your career in the medical field or adding skills to your career “toolbox.”
To make the programs accessible to our students, both day and evening classes will be available. Our mission-based goal is to remove barriers for anyone who wants to improve their life through a better paying job, increase their skill level, or re-tool themselves for a different employment path. These industry-recognized and in-demand certifications are the building blocks for anyone who wants to continue their education in healthcare by earning an LPN or nursing license.
Careers in the health sciences are currently in high demand, and—according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics—are expected to increase 121% between 2016 and 2026. Pumas completing this program will do so as highly-skilled and employable members of the 21st-century workforce.
