The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant Program
The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program at Saint Joseph’s College offers students the opportunity to learn the knowledge and skills to be a CCMA and to participate in hands-on and relevant learning. Before students are sent out for their clinical experiences, we replicate real-life situations in our medical lab; this allows our students to practice and perfect their learning and skills.
CCMAs usually work in hospitals, health clinics, physician and specialist offices, and outpatient facilities. Having a specialized skill set and knowledge for CCMAs is vital in the high demand area of today’s health career profession. CCMAs will do a variety of tasks such as administering medications, assisting with minor procedures, obtaining laboratory specimens, providing patient education, etc. Clinical medical assistants are a vital member of a health-care team. Becoming a CCMA ensures a career in a high paced, exciting environment.
