Students will become familiar with the biblical,
historical and theological foundations of the Church of Christ in the world.
Students will investigate and describe their ecclesiology via models of the
Church. Students will be able to articulate the mission, and ministry of the
Church; and prospects for dialogue with other churches. Students will examine
the role of the Spirit in the formation and development of the Church. Student
will understand the relationship between the universal Church, the local church
and parish churches. The goal is for the student to better understanding of the
nature of what it means to be Church both now and in the future.
texts will be used:
Models of the Church (Rev. ed.), Avery Dulles, SJ
|Church: Community for the Kingdom
