A Bit about me...

I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Saint Joseph's College, a Master of Divinity from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago and Doctor of Philosophy in Historical Theology (specializing in Medical/Moral theology) from Saint Louis University

Currently, I am an Associate Professor of Religion at Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer, Indiana. I also have some administrative duties, such as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. You can also find out more about the Department of Philosophy and Religion at Saint Joseph's College.

I also belong to a small religious community, the Missionaries of the Precious Blood (C.PP.S.). You can find out a little more about the Missionaries of the Precious Blood and the C.PP.S. Special Topics Course in Religion (092)

Sex and the Soul
"Sex and religion-two of the most powerful, passionate and poetic aspects of human existence." (Sex and Religion, 1) will be the focus of this course. We will begin by reading Sex and the Soul by Donna Freitas. In this book she has interviewed college students at public, private, Catholic and evangelical colleges/universities exploring their spiritual and sexual lives. Then we will explore the values and attitudes regarding sexuality in some of the major religious traditions in the book Sex and the Soul. We will explore the ethical implications of the religious traditions with regard to sexuality. The goal is to explore this relationship between sexuality, religion and spirituality and help students to articulate the role of religion and spirituality in regard to sexuality in the contemporary world.
