MTH 445 Semester 082 Real Analysis Final Project Grade
Name
____________________________ Total Points: ________ / 100 %
Assignment: Using your text as a resource, select a
particular topic in Real Analysis and develop a Maple Worksheet on this
topic. Because the topic that you choose dictates the form and content of
your Maple worksheet, I must deliberately be open-ended about what it should
be. However I do expect to be excited about the quality, creativity, and
attention to detail and mathematical rigor in your worksheet. The worksheet
should be much like a tutorial on the topic, so that the
mathematically-sophisticated reader (and listener) will understand the
presentation without prior specific knowledge on the topic.
Include in the
worksheet an explanation of the subject, the important result(s) and examples
or applications of the result(s) that provide insight and understanding of the
result(s).
You will present your
topic using your Maple worksheet to the class (Last week of the semester --two
presentations per class period). Your
presentation should last 20-25 minutes.
Suggested Topic
Areas (Does not mean that you cover ALL
of that topic).
Rolle's Theorem and The
Mean Value Theorem
The Riemann Integral
Convergence Criteria for Infinite Series.
LHospital's Rule
Integration by Parts
Fundamental Theorem of Calculus
Definition, Computation, Applications of Derivatives
Evaluation Rubric and Grade.
5 = Exceptional
performance
4 = Above
average (exceeds minimum standards)
3 = Met standard of
assignment
2 = Somewhat
deficient
1 = Poor performance
0 = Extremely
deficient or not done

the presenter (including questions), and demonstration of understanding.
Grade Reduction: _____ / 10% "You are to meet with me on (or before) Tuesday April 14th and go over your Maple worksheet. If what is shown to me shows poor preparation so far, there will be a 10% reduction in the grade!!!!!"
