Multidisciplinary/Inter-Institutional
Research Experience: An Interdisciplinary Approach to
Enhancing Quantitative Literacy Supported
in part by a grant from the Indiana Space Grant Consortium funded by NASA |
Saint Joseph’s College received a grant from INSGC
(funded by NASA) to expand quantitative literacy across the undergraduate
curriculum with special emphasis on the Core Program, the College’s
general education curriculum, through faculty development using newly acquired
Vernier™ technology and implementation of hands-on interdisciplinary
classroom experiences aligned with NASA and INSGC goals. Collaborative efforts will be made
across multiple disciplines in the Core Program and among departments, faculty,
undergraduate students, and K-5 students.
Using data acquisition technology, faculty and students will collect,
analyze, and interpret scientific data; investigate problems; and use the data.
