Welcome to our trip page!  On the map to the left find Antigua - that is the city where we spent our first and last nights in Guatemala.

Sandwiched between those days was our work week in and around the town of Tecpan.

While not on the map, Tecpan is located between Antigua and Lake Atitlan.

"War Cry of the Worker"
by Kevin Craney

In a world full of boundaries
and lives lived in bubbles,
our hearts become buried
so pick up a shovel.

The world has a rhythm
all people have purpose.
We are God's army,
His soldiers of service.

Armed with a paintbrush
fight darkness with color
and yield you a lantern
to cast light on others.

Hold high your hammer
and drive deep the nails.
Dare to build justice
where equality fails.

Pick up a wrench
and leave no bolt unfastened.
Where hope becomes shaky
secure it with passion.

With two hands gripped firmly
Go!  Swing your ax strongly.
Strike down the fences
that hold us in wrongly.

See, love is a citizen
of a place without borders.
So take up a trowl
and lay down the mortar.

Raise then a roof
from the highest of ladders.
Build up a house
where all people can gather.

Coal becomes diamonds
as trash turns to treasure.
The simplest of deeds
can reap hope without measure.

Thus, love needs its actions
be sent forth to labor.
Find strength in yourself
to reach out to your neighbor.

In a world full of boundaries
and lives live in bubbles,
our hearts become buried
so pick up a shovel.
