Dr. Steven Janco
Steve was installed as the fourth Director of the Rensselaer Program of Church Music and Liturgy in 2006. He holds an S.T.L. degree from the University of St. Mary of the Lake, Mundelein, IL, a Master of Church Music degree from Concordia University Chicago, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. During the year, while serving as part-time director of the Rensselaer Program, Steve works full-time as Liturgy Resources Specialist at World Library Publications in Franklin Park, IL. He is a consultant to the Chicago Office for Divine Worship and serves on the Institute Team of the North American Forum on the Catechumenate. Steve also is a well-known composer of Catholic ritual music.

Ary Nelson, M.A.
Ary is the on-campus Program Coordinator of the Rensselaer Program. She works closely with Steve Janco and helps to coordinate the administration and communications of the program and its annual summer session. She also serves as Campus Minister at Saint Joseph's College. She earned her M.A. in pastoral liturgy and music from SJC in 2003.

Dr. John Egan
John is long-time Chair of the Music Department at Saint Joseph's College-and the longest-serving faculty member in the Rensselaer Program. He joined the faculty of Saint Joseph's College in 1962. He teaches graduate piano during the summer session, in addition to his full-time duties during the academic year. He earned his Ph.D. at Indiana University.
Rev. Richard N. Fragomeni, Ph.D. 
Fr. Fragomeni teaches at least two liturgy courses during the summer semester at Saint Joe's. During the year he is Associate Professor of Liturgy and Preaching at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago. He also serves as Rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Pompeii, a devotional and pilgrimage site on the near west side of Chicago. He earned S.T.B. and M.A. degrees at the University of Louvain, Blegium; and M.A., M.Mus., and Ph.D. degrees from Catholic University of America. He is author of numerous books, including Come to the Feast, and co-author with Br. Michael McGrath, O.C.F.S., of Blessed Art Thou and At the Name of Jesus. He has written numerous journal articles and is a frequent presenter at liturgy and preaching workshops around the country. His most recent book is In Shining Splendor: Easter Season Reflections on the Exsultet.

Sandra Hobbs, M.A.
Sandy teaches theory and history courses during the summer and is the Rensselaer Program's resident handbell expert. During the year she is the Director of Choral Activities, Music Theory, and Handbells at one of Indiana's largest high schools, Lake Central in St. John. Sandra holds a Master of Music Education degree from Vandercook College of Music, Chicago, and an Master of Arts in Music from Saint Joseph's College.

Dr. John McIntyre 
John has taught in the Rensselaer Program since 1994 and currently focuses on courses in theory and composition. He earned his D.M.A. at the University of Southern California. During the academic year he is Associate Professor of Music at St. Mary of the Woods College in Terre Haute. In 2004, John received a prestigious award for his work as a composer from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP). "These awards are granted by an independent panel and are based on the unique prestige and value of each writer's catalog of original compositions." John spent the 1999-2000 academic year teaching in Colombia. He also served for a number of years as choir director at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Fort Worth.

Jill Nennmann, M.B.A., M.Mus., A.A.G.O. 
Jill serves as organ professor during the summer, as well as accompanist for the Summer Chorus. Jill recently accepted a new position as Director of Music and Organist at St. Joseph Parish, Wilmette, IL She holds M.B.A. and M.Mus. degrees from Texas Christian University. She has pursued further graduate study at Saint Joseph's College and through the Graduate Theological Foundation, Donaldson, IN.

Todd Samra, M.Mus.D.A. (cand.), 
Todd is Assistant Professor of Music at Saint Joseph's College, where he serves as Director of Choral Activities. During the year, he teaches courses in theory and history and offers private lessons in a number of instruments. During the summer he teaches voice and conducting and serves as director of the Summer Chorus. He holds the M.Mus. degree from the University of Missouri-and is a doctoral candidate at Ball State University in Muncie.

Sr. Sharon Stola, OSB, D.Min. 
Sr. Sharon teaches foundational liturgy courses during the summer and assists in the coordination of daily prayer. She has served for many years as Director of the Office for Divine Worship in the Diocese of Joliet, IL, in addition to serving as a parish liturgist. Having received specialized training through the Institute for Liturgical Consultants at Catholic Theological Union, Sr. Sharon serves as a consultant to parishes that are building and renovating churches. She also serves on the board of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions. She holds an M.A. in liturgical studies from the University of Notre Dame, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Catholic Theological Union, Chicago.

Rev. Edward Foley, Capuchin
Fr. Foley joins the Rensselaer Program faculty in 2008 to teach the Liturgical Music intensive. Ed is Director of the ecumenical Doctor of Ministry program at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, where he also serves as professor of liturgical studies and liturgical music. He completed his undergraduate studies at Saint Joseph's College and holds a PhD in liturgical studies from the University of Notre Dame. He is the author of many books and articles, and of the six-CD series, "Eucharist As Mystagogy."

Dr. Richard McCaron
Richard teaches the Ritual and Symbol intensive. He is associate professor of liturgical studies at Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, where he specializes in the relationship of liturgy and culture. He is the author of The Eucharistic Prayer at Sunday Mass as well as numerous journal articles. He earned his Ph.D. at the Catholic University of America.

Rev. Anthony Ruff, OSB
Fr. Ruff leads the Gregorian Chant Institute. A monk of St. John's Abbey, Collegeville, MN, Fr. Ruff is known nationally as a liturgical theologian, chant scholar and conductor. He serves as chair of the Ad Hoc Chant Subcommittee of the National Association of Pastoral Musicians and leads chant workshops for NPM. He is the founder of the National Catholic Youth Choir, which sings and tours for two weeks during the summer. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Hymn Society in the United States and Canada and is Chaplain for the Conference of Roman Catholic Cathedral Musicians. He earned his M.Div. degree from St. John's University, an S.T.M. from Yale University, and a Th.D. from the University of Graz, Austria.

Joyce Ann Zimmerman, C.PP.S., Ph.D., S.T.D.
Sr. Joyce Ann Zimmerman joins the Rensselaer faculty for 2008 to teach the Introduction to Sacraments intensive. She is the founding director of the Institute for Liturgical Ministry in Dayton, Ohio, the founding editor and columnist for the journal Liturgical Ministry, and co-editor of the annual liturgical resource Living Liturgy. She is an adjunct professor of liturgy, a liturgical consultant, and a frequent facilitator of workshops and days of recollection on liturgy and spirituality. She is the author of numerous books and articles, including Pray without Ceasing: Prayer for Morning and Evening and Liturgy and Hermeneutics, published by The Liturgical Press.
