The Department of Mathematics  has received a $30,000 grant from the Council of Independent Colleges to implement its Teaching Scholar Partnerships program "Making Connections".  Visit our TSP site for  information about this exciting project as well as many useful teaching resources.   On the right are Todd Huff( left) and Luke Schafer (right) two of our Scholars demonstrating a hands-on activity for the Golden Ratio.
Mth341 Historical Persepctives is the capstone course for our mathematics majors.  In this seminar-based course students give presentations on mathematical concepts in their historical setting.   At the left students Adam Whithouse, Brett Heinz (hidden), Luke Stout, Kevin Moeller, and Erick Smith simulate Erastothenes' method of calculating the circumference of the earth.   Visit the Historical Perspective's class web site to read each student's electronic journal and follow the progress of the class
