The United States Government Printing Office and GPO Access is an excellent search engine. It searches current congressional bills, the Congressional Record, the Federal Register, the U.S. Code and much more.

The Thomas Legislative Information on the Internet provides the full text of legislation, the Congressional Record, committee information, historical documents and other congressional information.

The U.S. Code allows you to search the compiled federal laws of the United States, via the Internet Office of the Law Revision Counsel of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The CIA World Factbook enables you to find demographic, social, political, economic and other information on the various countries of the world.

The Congressional Record is the official record of the proceedings and debates of the United States Congress. It is published daily when Congress is in session. The Congressional Record Index serves as the index to the Congressional Record. When Congress is in session, the Joint Committee on Printing publishes the Congressional Record Index biweekly.

The Statistical Abstract published since 1878, is the authoritative and comprehensive summary of statistics on the social, political, and economic organization of the United States.

The U.S. Gazeteer is a good place to search for place names in the U.S. It brings up maps as well as other information.
