Cup O' Joe Meeting Minutes (9/19/04 to 12/05/04) |
**19 Sept 2004**8:15pm Call to Order 1) Semester Budgeting. COJ has a current budget of $2,250.$400 will be set aside for the Starbucks coffee purchase. From the $400 for the coffee purchase, bulk quantities of SB House Blend, French Roast, and Caffe Verona will be purchased. The President will make these purchases. $1000 will be set aside for furniture/appliances. From the $1000 for furniture/appliances, ideas were thrown out for aquiring: beanbag chairs, new couches, a CD player, a TV, a Nintendo Entertainment System w/ games, magazine subscriptions, and a DVD player. Rob, Amie, Holly, and FD were appointed to a "Furniture Committee" to see to the aquisition of these things. The suggestion was made for a wireless Linux computer to be donated and installed. $50 will be set aside for Petty Cash. $200 will be set aside for General Inventory & Supplies. From the $200 for General Inventory & Supplies, purchases will be made as needed. It was decided that incense should be purchased. $600 will be frozen. 2) Definition of a Member. The definition of a member was rearticulated as being someone who is a "regular" and contributes in some way to the growth of COJ. This is consistent with the Constitution. 3) Wall painting. A general agreement and discussion affirmed the piece-by-piece wall-art philosophy of COJ. There are to be no themes. There is to be no painting over of existing artwork without general approval from an official meeting. Painters are to limit themselves on their contributions. Any non-regular is forbidden painting on the walls unless given approval from an official meeting. The President re-affirmed the importance of workers monitoring the actions of anyone who comes down to COJ by laying down the law and enforcing the rules. Any trouble-maker should be kicked out of the coffee house. Security is our back-up should the individual choose to not cooperate. A comparison was made with the computer labs and labmons. 4) E-Mail list update. It was noted that Amie and Rob were not on the list and should be added. It was agreed upon that Natalie and Jean should be added. 8:55pm Call to Adjourn. **7 Nov 2004**Call to Order 10:23pm 1) Spending... look for new stuff! 6-CD changer, phone... the blue towels are meant for dishes, and the old yellow are for cleaning purposes. 2) Computer Update... Call to Close 10:45pm. **5 Dec 2004**The meeting was called to order at 10:00pm. Nathan Graves was unanimously inducted as a new member. Joseph Tally was inducted as a new member. Britney Wickerak was inducted as a new member. Suggestions were read. All involved purchasing food items and seemed feasible. The President discussed the results of his meeting with Dean Keller-- that new carpeting does not seem feasible at this time because the administration is unsure of the future location of Cup O' Joe. Dean Keller made it clear that this is a matter that is out of student hands, however, whatever may happen is still up in the air and may continue to be for quite some time yet. Elections were held: President-Elect = Holly Herber (unanimous) Vice-President-Elect = Kevin Falk Secretary-Elect = Mike Buno (unanimous) Treasurer-Elect = Andrew Jendraszak |
