Why did you choose SJC? If there were other colleges you considered, what does SJC have that they did not have?
What made me choose SJC over other schools was the “family vibe” the SJC representative gave to me on my visit here.
What are your plans for the future or what career plans do you have?
I plan on becoming a teacher. I don’t plan on going back to Chicago and working; I have come to like the Indiana school system and would love to work here.
How do you feel about the Core Program?
I have two words to describe the Core Program: “well rounded.” The Core Program makes you very well rounded as a person, and I would much rather take Core than take general education classes (101 courses).
Do you feel that the Core Program has helped you?
Core writing helps a ton with my major classes, and I feel confident that after I leave SJC, if I do travel anywhere in the world, I will have some background information on the location.
Get a jump start on your career and have your resume ready to go at graduation.
Small colleges offer you personal attention; SJC professors do more for you—they serve as mentors.
The Core Program is all about you and your role in the world.
You get more deeply involved at SJC, so you get more meaningful experiences that prepare you for career and life.
Get real-life experience and become an excellent communicator.
