Why did you choose SJC?
I chose SJC because I wanted to continue my academic learning as well as stay actively involved in my faith. Size was also important. My high school had a student body of 1,200 students, and it was a positive experience for me. I wanted to go to college at a place where I could continue to be a name, not a number. I also wanted to play college football, and SJC awarded me with a football scholarship which allowed me to do that.

As a student, what were you involved in?
In addition to playing football, I was the Intramural Sports Director, a Freshman Leader, and attended Kairos retreats sponsored by Campus Ministry. I also worked in the Alumni and Parent Relations Office, where I fielded calls and had the opportunity to speak to a number of SJC graduates.

What are you doing now?
I am a Certified Senior Account Manager and Commercial Printing Staffing Specialist for Jonathan Scott International in Centerville, Ohio. My company specializes in finding employees for companies in the printing industry.

How did SJC prepare you for the "real world"?
Because of my job, I have to deal with people with a wide variety of backgrounds. The Core Program helped me to become a well-rounded person conversant in a variety of different subjects. Core allows you to "dip your toe in the water" and learn a little bit in a number of different areas. It also sharpened my critical-thinking skills and instilled in me values I'll have for the rest of my life.
