Criminal Justice Why did you choose SJC?
I was impressed with the quality of the faculty.
As a student, what were you involved in?
I was the Vice President of SJC's Habitat for Humanity
and the SJC Representative of the executive board of the Jasper County chapter.
I was also a member of the Criminal Justice Club, Art Club, Alpha Lambda
Delta honor society, Measure (SJC's literary magazine), and Volunteer
Corps. I worked in the Writing Clinic and as an Assistant to English Professor
Dr. Charles Kerlin. During my junior year, I had an internship with the
Indiana State Senate Democratic Caucus, where I worked with the State Senators
and learned more about the lawmaking process. I was assigned to a committee,
sat in on both Senate and committee sessions, and conducted necessary research.
I was one of only 12 people chosen for this internship. What are you doing now?
I am the Campaign Manager for Nancy Dembowksi, Democrat Senator for Indiana's fifth district. How did SJC prepare you for the "real world"?
Attending Saint Joseph's College helped shape
my outlook on life and gave me the skills and confidence in my abilities
that I feel will be necessary to succeed in the future.
