- How do you think SJC has prepared you for your upcoming position at Katz, Sapper & Miller in Indianapolis?
- What is it about a Saint Joseph's College education that separates it from that of other colleges and universities?
- Do you think SJC gave you an edge in the hiring process?
- What are your plans and goals for the future?
- With jobs hard to come by, what advice do you have for other students looking for a job or internship?
Andrea: I believe that SJC's small town atmosphere paired with the Core Program have given me the confidence to reach out and make a name for myself in a real world setting.
Seth: The Business faculty does a fantastic job of preparing students for the business world. Networking events ensure you are well prepared to interact effectively with potential employers and co-workers.
Andrea: I believe one of the biggest assets of SJC's education that separates it from many other colleges and universities is the small class sizes. This allows students to be comfortable asking questions in class and seeking additional help with their professor outside of the classroom.
Seth: The Core Program is the biggest advantage that Saint Joseph's College has over other colleges and universities. It truly helps you to grow as a person.
Andrea: SJC's Accounting program is recognized by many. In fact, there have been a handful of graduates that have either pursued internships or careers with the firm Katz, Sapper & Miller.
Seth: SJC gave me an edge in the hiring process because they prepare you for interaction with other business professionals through networking events and presentations.
Andrea: After obtaining my CPA license, I hope to start my career with an accounting firm. Eventually, I would like to work my way up the career ladder and become a partner in a firm.
Seth: My goal is to help Katz, Sapper & Miller grow and remain one of the top accounting firms in Indianapolis - and to one day become a partner.
Andrea: My advice to any student entering into the workforce is to build your resume by getting involved with clubs, organizations, and part-time jobs.
Seth: You have to find a career for which you have passion. This passion will show up in your grades and your interviews. Being a well-rounded individual will also help you immensely when going through the hiring process.
