Why did you choose SJC?
When I was in high school, my mom enrolled in some Nursing classes through the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, and many of her classes were at Saint Joseph's College. Every time I visited SJC's campus with my mom, I always felt right at home. That's when I knew SJC was the place for me.

As a student, what were you involved in?
I had so many opportunities at SJC! I was involved in three different theatrical productions, and I traveled to Greece for ten days with my honors Core Three class - my first international experience. I am involved with the SJC Education Club, for which I am the Secondary Education Representative. I worked for the Chemistry Department since my freshman year, and I participated in an internship with the American Institute of Toxicology in Indianapolis, Indiana, the summer before my senior year. I specifically assisted with developing a method for detecting different types of anti-depressants in the human body.

What are you doing now?
I am teaching Advanced Placement and College Prep Chemistry and Mathematics at Seeger Memorial Jr./Sr. High School in West Lebanon, Indiana.

How did SJC prepare you for the "real world"?
As a prospective Teacher, I had the opportunity to participate in the Teaching Scholars Program here at SJC. Through TSP, I had the opportunity to work with TI-92 plus calculators, TI Voyage 200 calculators, and CBL2 equipment to develop lessons for a local high school. The lessons that I developed gave students the opportunity to use this same technology. The Program gave me so much experience with developing lessons that incorporate technology, and I learned how to manage classrooms and students in a laboratory environment. It has also increased my confidence for when I'm in front of the classroom
