We have finished reviewing the results for accuracy; please download the official Excel® spreadsheets below. While we did uncover some problems in the team scoring, which will be addressed for next year, be assured that the medals and trophies awarded yesterday are correct. We appreciate all your feedback and your understanding as we came up to speed. To the teams selected for State, Good Luck! And to all, keep making science fun and informative. Lunch Availability on the SJC Campus on Competition Day - Updated 2/8/2008 The Cafeteria in Halleck Center will be open from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The cost of a meal in the Cafeteria will be $5.25. This is a discount from normal pricing; tell the Cafeteria cashier that you're here for Science Olympiad in order to get the discount!

Inclement Weather Policy - Updated 1/28/2008 In the event of inclement winter weather on tournament day, we will avoid cancellation of the regional tournament at Saint Joseph's College if at all possible. If weather threatens, we will first consider delaying the opening. We will try to list any delay on this website, but will contact coaches directly if we have contact numbers, such as cell phone numbers, that can be used on that morning. The State Science Olympiad statement on inclement weather is as follows: "If a Regional has to be cancelled due to inclement weather, it will usually not be rescheduled. If a team cannot get to Regional or it was cancelled, every effort will be made to reschedule team(s) to a later Regional Tournament. If it is the last Regional, there is usually no recourse. There is no refund."

Cell Phone Rules

Cell Phones, Pagers, Palm Pilots The SOOC has decided to not allow cell phones, pagers, palm pilots, PDAs, etc. in the room where an event will be run. If a student is found in an event with a cell phone, he or she will be disqualified from the event. Please keep in mind the spirit of Science Olympiad. It is not our intention to disqualify students needlessly. If a student does not feel comfortable leaving his or her cell phone in the school homeroom, the cell phone may be turned into the event supervisor before the event begins and picked up after completion of the event. The use of cell phones, etc. to communicate with external sources or other students within the event is expressly forbidden. If an event states that a laptop computer can be used, such as in Astronomy, the computer must not have wireless internet capabilities. If you have a student using a computer with wireless capabilities, please ensure that the wireless feature is disabled.
