Saint Joseph's College has announced the hiring of Anthony "Tony" Maidenberg, JD, as the College's Director of Major Gifts. Maidenberg graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Indiana University before earning his Juris Doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
Maidenberg comes to SJC after serving 11 years as the Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI), the statewide association representing all 31 of Indiana's private colleges and universities. Prior to working at ICI, he was a general partner and attorney for his family's real estate business. He served in the Indiana State Senate 1988-92 while operating a general practice of law in Marion, Ind., and was the mayor of Marion 1976-79.
"I have always been impressed by the leadership at SJC," said Maidenberg. "The position is a great fit for someone with my background. I love the institution's energy and the beauty of the campus. I am impressed with SJC's Core Program and the focus on impacting students' lives. These are ways to plant seeds for changing the world."
Maidenberg resides in Marion, Ind., with wife, Jenny, an elementary teacher in Marion Community Schools. The couple, celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary in August, has three children: Molly, Micah, and Nancy.
