Saint Joseph’s College sophomore and Presidential Scholar Lindsey Werking, a Political Science major and Digital Media & Journalism minor from Fortville, Ind., was awarded a $1,000 Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Scholarship.
Two of the scholarships are offered to undergraduate students attending a four-year private or public Indiana college or university who are studying marketing, public relations, management, or communications and are interested in the architectural, engineering, or construction industries.
“I am extremely flattered and honored to be the recipient of the SMPS Scholarship,” said Werking.
Werking is considering several career paths, including public relations, law school, news media, and nonprofit work. During her freshman year, Werking was the governor of Noll Hall, an Admissions student ambassador and tour guide, and a member of the women’s soccer team. She was a retreatant on Kairos 66 and works for WPUM-TV and WPUM-FM.
