Dr. Rob Pfaff has worked at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana for the last 21 years. He currently serves in several capacities, including Professor and Department Chair of Chemistry and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs/Director of the Office of Institutional Research. In the latter role, he is responsible for reporting on behalf of the College to the U.S. Department of Education, the Indiana Commission on Higher Education, U.S. News & World Report, etc., and to internal constituencies, such as the President and the Board of Trustees.
Previous roles held by Dr. Pfaff at Saint Joe include Director of Assessment and Retention, Director of Transfer Student Orientation, and member of the President’s Enrollment Management Committee, along with routine committee work among the faculty.
Prior to moving to Saint Joe, Dr. Pfaff spent 12 years on the Chemistry faculty at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Dr. Pfaff is a life-long Midwesterner, hailing from Dubuque, Iowa. He received a bachelor’s degree with majors in Chemistry and Psychology from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois and his master’s and Ph.D. degrees in Physical-Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma. Following graduate school, he held a postdoctoral position in Chemistry at the U.S. Department of Energy Ames Laboratory, located at Iowa State University.
