Saint Joseph's College Elects Dr. Edward Habrowski to the Board of Trustees
Dr. Edward Habrowski '71 has been elected to the Saint Joseph's College Board of Trustees. Habrowski graduated from SJC with a Bachelor of History and earned his Master of Secondary Education from Saint Francis College in 1975. He later received his Master of Secondary School Administration and his doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Indiana University.
Habrowski served in various roles at Saint Joseph's College during his professional career. He was the Registrar for 10 years, an Associate Professor of Education for nine years, and a chair member of the Education Department. After leaving SJC, Habrowski became the Principal of Rensselaer Central High School and held the position until 2008. Habrowski was then elected Assistant Superintendent of Rensselaer Central Schools Corporation. He retired in 2012.
Habrowski is a member of several organizations, including the Comparative and International Education Society, Delta Epsilon Sigma, Allen County-Fort Wayne Historical Society, Phi Delta Kappa, and Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development. He is a life member of the Anson Wolcott Historical Society.
A Fellow and member of the SJC Alumni Board, Habrowski has traveled around the world for research. In 1990, he traveled to Malawi and Tanzania, where he did fieldwork for his doctoral dissertation. Four years later, he was in Zimbabwe leading a tour group of nine people exploring the country, culture, and people. Habrowski has also traveled to Bahrain, Ireland, Italy, Poland, and Saudi Arabia.
A member of the SJC Board of Trustees' Mission Awareness Committee, it is Habrowski's goal to "make SJC a greater place academically, religiously, athletically, and residentially." Habrowski resides with his wife, Pamela, in Fair Oaks, Ind.
Saint Joseph's College, named a "character-building college" by the Templeton Foundation and a "best Midwestern college" by the Princeton Review, is a four-year, Catholic college offering 27 majors, 4 group majors, 34 minors, and 9 pre-professional programs, complemented by the nationally acclaimed Core Program.
