Saint Joseph's College Students Selected to 2012 Indiana All-State Intercollegiate Band
Five Saint Joseph's College students have been selected to the 2012 Indiana All-State Intercollegiate Band. They will play in concert at 1:00 pm CST on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the Embassy Theatre in Fort Wayne, Ind. The band will include 78 other students representing 15 Indiana colleges and universities. The performance will be held in conjunction with the Indiana Music Educators Association Professional Development Conference.
Senior Krishanna Baker of Delphi, Ind.; senior Ethan Avina of Lyons, Ohio; sophomore Adam Bloesch of Attica, Ind.; senior Michael Jamieson of Star City, Ind.; and junior Kelso Daning of Elkhart, Ind. were selected to be in the prestigious group. Allan McMurray, Director of Bands at the University of Colorado-Boulder, will serve as the guest conductor.
"I am very proud of these five students," said SJC Band Director and Assistant Professor of Music Robb Thiel. "Music majors typically have more than 20 credits each semester, and these students have been able to balance their classroom responsibilities with all of their performance obligations. To be selected to a group of this caliber is a fine reward for all of their hard work and dedication to music at SJC."
