LaFontaine, Indiana, Native Crowned 2005 Wabash County Festivals Scholarship Pageant Queen

Saint Joseph's College junior Heidi Friermood, the daughter of Greg and Jody Friermood and a native of LaFontaine, Indiana, was recently crowned the 2005 Wabash County Festivals Scholarship Pageant Queen. In addition to her title, Friermood was awarded a $2,000 scholarship and a chance to participate in the State Festival Pageant in November.

A 2003 graduate of Southwood High School, Friermood is an Elementary Education major and Psychology minor at SJC. She is a member of the Women's Tennis Team, Cheerleading Squad, and Education Club, as well as a Resident Assistant.

Saint Joseph's College, named a "character-building college" by the Templeton Foundation, is a four-year, Catholic liberal arts college offering 73 major, minor, and pre-professional programs. Founded and sponsored by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood, SJC is located in Rensselaer, Indiana, approximately 90 minutes from both Chicago and Indianapolis, on a park-like campus of 180 acres and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
