Artwork of SJC Professor Bonnie Zimmer to be Featured in Exhibit; Reception Planned for February 21
Saint Joseph's College Associate Professor of Art and Assistant Professor of Education Bonnie Zimmer will have samples of her artwork on display at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Ind. The exhibit, "Objects of Contemplation: Rural Hybrids," runs through March 8. A reception is planned for 3:00 to 5:00 pm CST, Thursday, Feb. 21 in the Gallery of Contemporary Art, located in the Savannah Center on IUN's campus.
Zimmer has received several Indiana Art Commission Fellowships for her artwork, as well as several teaching awards, including the Outstanding Indiana Secondary Art Educator and Outstanding Educator of the Year in Indiana in 1997, and Outstanding Western Region Art Educator in 1998.
Zimmer earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Textiles from Indiana University and her Master's in Art Education from Purdue University.
The IU Northwest Gallery for Contemporary Art is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Friday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The gallery is located in the Savannah Center neighboring the IU Northwest Book Store.
