Saint Joseph's College to Host Lake Banet Grand Opening
Saint Joseph's College will host the Lake Banet Grand Opening on Saturday, May 26, from 1:00 to 6:00 pm CST at Lake Banet Park. Along with food and swimming, the event will also feature music and games for a family-friendly kick-off to the start of the summer. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
"We want people to come out and experience the beauty of Lake Banet Park," said Lake Banet Manager Kathi Corwin '12. Because the lake is somewhat secluded, many people are unfamiliar with it. This will give them a chance to see all that it has to offer."
RSVP by phone to 219.866.6386 or online at alumni.saintjoe.edu/events.
Lake Banet fishing and swimming passes are available through the Office of Event Services in the basement of McHale Hall at SJC. Fishing and swimming privileges are limited to SJC Fellows, current full-time employees, currently enrolled full-time SJC students, retirees of the College, and Friends of the Lake.
The Friends of the Lake program has three giving levels: St. Francis, St. Anne, and Sts. Andrew and Peter. The St. Francis (patron saint of environment) level costs $25 and includes an individual swimming pass. The St. Anne (patron saint of family) level costs $50 and includes a family swimming pass, and the Sts. Andrew and Peter (patron saints of fishing) level costs $100 and includes a family swimming and fishing pass.
