Saint Joseph's College Named Affiliate of the Indiana Space Grant Consortium
Saint Joseph's College has been approved for affiliate status with the Indiana Space Grant Consortium (INSGC). As an affiliate of the INSGC, SJC students and faculty will be provided with opportunities for fellowships, scholarships, internships, and project awards related to the fields of science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).
The INSGC is a source of NASA-related information, awards, and programs for the State of Indiana. It awards scholarships to students at its affiliate institutions and is one of 52 consortia that are part of the National Space College and Fellowship Program, initiated by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in 1989. Each consortium includes colleges, universities, businesses, and other private and public-sector institutions working to further aerospace education and career training.
"The INSGC awards grants for innovations in STEM education, and the College has a unique opportunity to reach a broad audience through the Core Curriculum, especially Cores 5 and 6," said SJC Associate Professor of Physics and Computer Science and INSGC Affiliate Director Jennifer Coy. "We are very excited about the resources that are now available to the students and faculty of the College."
