Greyhouds Escape Fieldhouse
The Saint Joseph's College volleyball team lost 3-0 to the University of Indianapolis on Tuesday night at Richard F. Scharf Alumni Fieldhouse.
SJC (12-18, 6-7) went down early in the match as the Greyhounds (31-1, 12-1) took a sizable advantage midway through the first game. The Pumas, working for every point, made a run late but Indy escaped the first game victorious 25-22. The second game saw the Pumas outplay the Greyhounds, but six service errors played a role in SJC dropping the second game 25-22.
The Greyhounds had to battle in the third game as well, but closed out the Pumas with a 25-20 victory. Indy posted a .350 hitting percentage, committing 11 attacking errors on the evening.
Sarah Frantz (Jr., Goshen, Ind./Goshen) finished with a game high 12 kills while Erin Brocker (So., Crystal Lake, Ill./Marian Central Catholic) recorded 31 assists.
The Pumas will conclude the regular season on Saturday as they host Maryville University at Richard F. Scharf Alumni Fieldhouse. The match is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. CST.
