Baseball climbs to seventh in region rankings
The Saint Joseph's College baseball team has risen to seventh in this week's NCAA Divsion II North Central Regional rankings.
The Pumas (24-16) are one of three Great Lakes Valley Conference teams in the top eight, joining the fourth-ranked University of Southern Indiana (33-15) and fifth-ranked Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (26-13).
Grand Valley State University (31-4) maintains the No. 1 spot, while Ashland University (30-11) is No. 2, Saginaw Valley State University (25-10) is No. 3, Wayne State University (23-18) is No. 6, and Mercyhurst College (22-15) is No. 8.
The top six teams in each region at the end of the season advance to the Division II NCAA Tournament.
SJC hosts Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday and Sunday at Gil Hodges Field. Action is set to begin at noon on both days. Senior Day activities will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.
