Timely Warnings & Special Alerts
In the event that a situation arises, either on or off campus, that in the judgment of the Vice President of Student Development or Associate Dean for Safety and Security, constitutes an ongoing or continuing threat to the campus community, a campus wide "timely warning" will be issued. The warning will be issued through campus e-mail system to all the students, faculty, and staff.
In cases of imminent danger, the SJC community will also be notified of the danger via the jyngle.com emergency text message system. You must be registered with jyngle.com in order to receive these messages.
Depending on the particular circumstances of the crime, (especially in situations that could pose an immediate threat to the campus community and individuals), Security Officers working in conjunction with the Office of Campus Life may also post notices on each residence hall floor. If anyone has information warranting a "timely warning" they should report the circumstances to the Dean of Students Office located in Halleck Center room 106 Monday through Thursday from 7am to 5pm, or by phone ext. 6127. Contact the Security and Safety Department during the evening hours on weekdays, and on weekends at ext. 6129, or come to the Security and Safety Office located in Halleck Center on the lower level room G100 to report the situation in person.
