Room Change Information and Online Form
General Guidelines
Students are allowed to switch rooms at any point during the semester, except for the first and last three weeks of the semester. A student may only change rooms once per semester. If a room is not available at the time the application is turned in we will hold the application until a room becomes available.
Room change notifications will be sent via email. Please check your SJC email address for specific information about keys and moving. You will be given 48 hours to move and return your room keys. Please know- Private rooms, Schwietermann rooms, and the Residential Suites (Apartments) are an additional cost per semester.
Applying for a Room Change
Students can apply for a room change starting Monday, September 10 by submitting the online Room Change Form. Room changes are processed by date of submission, quality points, and in consideration of available bed spaces. Not all room changes will be approved. The last day to submit a room change request for the fall semester is November 16.
Room Change Options
PRIVATE ROOM: Students have the option of paying for their room to be a single, or moving into a private room on campus.
Some private rooms may have only 1 set of furniture, but all furniture already in a room must remain in the room. Private rooms are an
additional cost and only available in Bennett, Justin, Merlini, Seifert, and Schwietermann. For the specific cost please contact
housing@saintjoe.edu.
ROOM CHANGE & ROOMMATE REQUEST: Students have the option of changing rooms to live with someone else on campus. All residents
involved in the room must submit an online room change request. Students who are not moving and having someone move in with them still need
to submit an application.
ROOM CHANGE & NEEDS ROOMMATE: Students can still change rooms even when they don't want a private room or have someone
specific to room with.
Notification
The Housing Office will review room change requests during their normal hours of operation Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. You will be notified via your SJC email within 48 business hours if your room change has been approved. Housing will primarily use your SJC email address to communicate with you in regards to key pick up and moving details.
