Housing and Residence Life

Attention: Requests for special housing accommodations for the 2008-2009 academic year will not be accepted after March 14, 2008 for returning students. If you have an accommodation request, please submit it to Campus Life on or before March 14, 2008.

For new students, please submit your documentation by May 15, 2008.

The Assistant Dean for Campus Life will endeavor to meet the needs of students with special housing requests based on medical and psychological conditions. However, a request for a special room assignment must be accompanied by a letter of support documenting your need for the accommodation. If you are making such a request, be sure to provide documentation that meets the following standards.

The documentation should:

1. Be written on the health professional’s letterhead stationary, signed and dated no earlier than six months before its submission to the Assistant Dean for Campus Life.
2. Be from the health professional providing treatment, or one who is closely associated with the care provided for the condition on which the request is made.
3. Include a full diagnostic statement.
4. Describe the specific housing accommodation requested.
5. Provide an explicit rationale supporting the need for the accommodation.

Special needs room assignments are valid for one academic year. An updated letter of support from the health professional should accompany a new request.
