Corey completed his undergraduate education at Indiana State University at Terre Haute, Indiana where he studied Art Education with concentrations in Painting and Ceramics as well as a minor in Art History. His love of making art and a goal of teaching at the college level drove him to continue his education. Northern Illinois University awarded Corey with a tuition waiver scholarship and a teaching assistantship while earning his M.F.A in Painting which he completed in May 2012.
Corey joined the Saint Joseph College faculty the next fall as an adjunct faculty member. Teaching in the Art Department, Corey has taught Drawing, Painting, Ceramics, and Printmaking. In the fall of 2015, Corey became a full time SJC faculty member adding Science Core to his art teaching responsibilities. In the local community, Corey serves on the Board of Directors for the Prairie Arts Council in Rensselaer. He is also a practicing artist working in his studio in his new home just outside Rensselaer where he resides with his new wife, Morgan.
