Career Events for Fall 2008
September 9, 2008 – Chicago Tribune Career Fair
This Career Fair is scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm at Soldier Field, 1410 South Museum Drive, Chicago. Business attire is required. Bring a number of copies of your resume to distribute. Resumes will be required for entry into the fair. You will not be able to attend without a resume. Check the Tribune website for more details on parking and public transportation.
September 19, 2008 – Accounting Interview Day
This annual event is sponsored by the College Career Center Consortium (CCCC) of which Saint Joseph's College is a member. Accounting Interview Day is open to junior and senior students in accounting or other related majors of the 12 colleges and universities that make up the College Career Center Consortium. Only students from member schools will be admitted to the event. There is no fee to attend, but students must register through our Career Development Office. This year's event will be held at Primo's Banquets in Indianapolis. Check with the Career Development Center for times and additional details regarding bus transportation to the event.
October 2, 2008 – Graduate School Fair, University of Illinois (Chicago) Last year, representatives from over 150 graduate and professional schools from across the US attended this event in the University's Recreation Center. Saint Joseph's College sponsored a bus to this fair. This year's hours are 3 to 7 pm. The fair is being co-sponsored by the University of Illinois at Chicago, Benedictine University, Chicago State University, Concordia University, DePaul University, Dominican University, Eureka College, Governors State University, Illinois Institute of Technology, Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Knox College, Lewis University, Loyola University Chicago, National-Louis University, North Central College, Northeastern Illinois University, Northern Illinois University, Northwestern University, Olivet Nazarene University, Roosevelt University, and the University of Illinois Alumni Career Center. The Chicago Graduate and Professional School Fair is open to the general public and is not limited to students attending the sponsoring Universities. If you are interested in attending, please contact the Career Development Center (X6188) by September 15th. If enough students express interest, a bus will be arranged.
October 7, 2008 – Women for Hire Job Fair
This special women's career event will be held at Navy Pier in Chicago from 10 am to 2 pm at the Lakeview Terrace, Navy Pier, 600 East Grand Avenue, Chicago. Admission to this fair is free. Participants must register on site. Resumes are required for admittance and business attire is required. If enough female students are interested in attending, the Career Development Center will sponsor a bus to this event. Contact Donna Brody in the Center at X 6188 if interested.
Second Semester -- SAVE THE DATES!!
Our campus CareerFest will be held February 18, 2009 in the Halleck Center Ballroom. Times will be announced.
This year's College Talent Recruitment Day, sponsored by the College Career Center Consortium and held in Indianapolis, is scheduled for February 19th. Bus transportation will be provided.
Teacher Candidate Interview Day (Consortium event for prospective teachers only) is tentatively scheduled for April 15, 2009. Details will be provided to all graduating education majors.
On-campus recruiting events will be scheduled throughout the semester with employers visiting campus to interview individual students. Please check your email for details on these visits and watch for signs posted around campus.
