"Everyone thinks of changing the world, but no one thinks of changing himself" -Leo Tolstoy
A person's professional life in the 21st century will most likely include multiple career and job changes. In an ever-changing career landscape, there are a few things an individual can control: their accomplishments and ability to convey stories of success. Our services help SJC students and alumni get an edge by helping them to effectively express accomplishments.
According to a recent survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers, there is a connection between student use of career center programming and job offers.
- Students who used the career center four or more times a semester were more likely to have job offers than those who used it once a semester.
- There was a difference in median salary of more than $5,700 between students from the Class of 2010 who never went to career services ($35,978) and those who went four or more times per semester ($41,714)
The Career Development Center is open from 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays.
