Clubs, activities, & leadership: Cheerleading, Puma Activities Council, Little 500 chairperson, tour guide, freshmen leader, Alpha Lambda Delta, Chemistry lab assistant, peer learning assistant, Relay For Life team development chair, and I am organizing the Forensics event for the Science Olympiad at SJC in 2014.
How did you hear about SJC?
I searched online for schools that offered majors in Forensic Science and found out that SJC had a major. Now that they also offer the master’s degree, I know I made the right choice!
Why did you choose SJC?
I chose SJC because I immediately felt welcome when I came to campus. I was able to connect personally with professors like Dr. Neal Haskell. Dr. Haskell is a major reason for why I chose SJC. So far, I have had the opportunity to take one of his courses and do some summer interning with him. I also value the fact that I can join clubs and branch out at SJC. I wasn't able to do that in high school, and I knew it was something that I wanted to do in college. SJC was able to help me get into my major as soon as I started classes. I was also able to transfer credits I earned in high school, which freed up enough time in my schedule for me to add Chemistry as a second major.
What are your plans for the future?
I plan to graduate with a BS in Biology, a BS in Chemistry, and a minor in Criminal Justice. Then, I hope to use the knowledge I gained at SJC to work as a CSI or in a crime lab. After graduation, I plan to get my masters in Forensics from SJC.
