About us...

The Communication Department at Saint Joseph's College sponsors several extracurricular activities, one of which is our television production facility.

Our facility consists of a three-camera studio; control room; cable television programming office; a computer-based newsroom with Media 100 non-linear news editing and LocalNews newsroom software; and two Sony Vegas non-linear edit suites.

OFF THE REEL.   Students in TV Lab began producing this movie review show in 2006.   Each week hosts Kaylee Hofmeister and BJ Houlding discuss three films, and who knows what direction this unscripted dialogue will take!    Producer:  Melissa Piskula.

OUT OF CLASS.   Our long-running sitcom about life at a small private college. Twenty-three episodes have been produced, dating back to 1986.

Recent episodes include a spoof on the popular tv program The Real World.   It was titled The Wierd World, and was shot in Michigan.  Previous shows have dealt with both serious and funny themes. Examples include: four freshmen get locked in the library on Halloween night; a camping trip is cut short by an escaped mass murderer; vampires harass campus; drug addiction takes its toll on a student; a stalker disrupts campus; student falls asleep in lecture and wake up in a Western; a parody of Baywatch and another spoof of Survivor.

Shows are shot in and around campus, and often include "road trip" shoots. OOC productions have taken us to  Colorado, Kentucky, Michigan, St. Louis and numerous sites around Indiana.

SPIN!  A brain-child of junior Danielle Klosowski, this is a game show where contestants spin a wheel for categories and point value, and try to answer challenging questions.  Live-to-tape.
