Commencement Activities 2009
Wednesday April 29th
- Degree Signing Party: Picnic (IM Field), 5:00 p.m. Graduates on meal plan, bring ID. (Non-students $6.50)
Thursday April 30th
- Senior Bowling: (Strike Zone) 10:00 p.m.
Friday May 1st
- Senior Portraits: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Halleck Student Center North Lounge. Portraits by Doren; Sign up sheets located in the Dean of Student's Office.
- Senior Brunch: 12 noon in the Halleck Student Center Ballroom faculty and staff welcome.
- President's Dinner: 5:00 p.m. (Halleck Student Center Dining Room) Full food court meal with the addition of a wine and cheese bar. One-year-old and under is free; 2-10 years old, $5.50; 11 years old and above, $12.95. No charge to graduates. RSVP
- Baccalaureate Mass: 7:00 p.m. (Chapel) Graduates assemble in Halleck Center by 6:30 p.m. and process to Chapel. If inclement weather assemble in Chapel Cafeteria (Chapel lower level) Students are required to wear their gowns at this time. Students are not required to wear hoods and caps at this Mass. No special line up required. Faculty are to be dressed in full regalia.
- President's Dessert Reception and Senior Slide Show: 9:00 p.m. (Halleck Student Center Ballroom) Come meet and greet the President and view the senior slide show.
- No charge to anyone who attended 5 p.m. Presidential Dinner.
- Non-attendees, $5.95 RSVP
- Semi-formal Dance: 10:00 p.m. (Ballroom)
Saturday, May 2nd
- Community Buffet Brunch: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in Halleck Student Center Dining Room. (No charge to graduates; One year old and under is free; 2-10 years old, $9.95; 11 years old and above, $15.95) RSVP -- with preferred seating times. (Seating times are at 15-minutes intervals.)
- Brunch will include a sumptuous buffet including three carved meats, a cheese-fruit-vegetable bar, peel and eat shrimp, delicious made-to-order omelets and waffles, a full and fresh salad bar, lasagna, assorted fresh steamed vegetables, delectable potatoes and stuffing, and a decadent dessert bar to end your meal experience.
- Commencement Ceremony: 12:00 p.m. Graduates assemble in the Halleck Center North Lounge and line up alphabetically for procession to the Field House. Hoods and Caps are worn. Faculty will line the main aisle leading to the graduation platform. Graduates remain standing after arriving at their seats. (If inclement weather, line up in Hanson Recreation Center at 12:30 p.m.)
- Doors to Richard F. Scharf Alumni Field House open at 12:00 noon.
- 1:00 p.m. Commencement Ceremony in the Richard F. Scharf Alumni Field House (handicapped seating available)
- Graduation Reception: Immediately following the commencement ceremony on the Core Educational Center patio. (In the event of inclement weather, this will be held in the Hanson Recreation Center.)
