Commencement Activities 2010
Wednesday, May 5th
- Degree Signing Party: Picnic (IM Field) 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Graduates on meal plan, bring ID.
Thursday, May 6th
- Pack the Pub: (City Office and Pub) 9:00 p.m.
Friday, May 7th
- Senior Portraits: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Halleck Student Center North Lounge. Portraits by Doren; Sign up sheets located in the Dean of Students Office.
- Senior Brunch: Noon in the Halleck Student Center Ballroom. Faculty and staff are welcome.
- Afternoon Activities: Join classmates for an afternoon of fun at the IM Field.
- Dinner is on your own this evening as there is no dinner scheduled on campus.
- Outdoor Movie 9:00 p.m. (IM Field by Residential Suites.) Enjoy a night at the movies and refreshments under the stars.
Saturday, May 8th
- Picnic at Lake Banet Noon to 1:30 p.m. No charge for graduates (Children 3 years old and under eat free; 3-5 years old - $2.00; 6-12 years old - $3.50; Adults $6.95) RSVP
- Baccalaureate Mass 5:00 p.m. (Chapel) Graduates assemble in Halleck Center by 4:30 p.m. and process to Chapel.
- If inclement weather assemble in Chapel Cafeteria (Chapel lower level)
- Students are required to wear their gowns at this time. Students are not required to wear hoods and caps at this Mass. No special line up required. Faculty are to be dressed in full regalia.
- President's Dinner: 6:30 p.m. (Halleck Student Center Dining Room) Full food court meal with the addition of a wine and cheese bar. Children 3 years old and under eat free; 3-5 years old - $2.50; 6-12 years old - $7.75; adults - $15.95. No charge to graduates. RSVP
- President's Reception and Senior Slide Show: 9:00 p.m. (Halleck Student Center Ballroom) Come meet and greet the President and enjoy a desert bar reception. No charge for those attending the President's Dinner; $5.95 for those not attending Dinner. RSVP
- Senior Slide Show 10:00 p.m.
- Semi-formal Dance: 10:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. (Ballroom) Cash bar and hors d'oeuvres. (Graduates will receive three (3) free drink tickets that can be picked up at the Dean of Students office from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. during exam week.)
Sunday, May 9th
- Community Buffet Brunch: 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Halleck Student Center Dining Room. (No charge to graduates; Children 3 years old and under is free; 3-5 years old, $2.50; 6-12 years Adults $15.95) RSVP with preferred seating times. (Seating times are at 15-minute intervals.)
- Commencement Ceremony: Noon, Graduates assemble in the Halleck Center North Lounge and line up alphabetically for procession to the Fieldhouse. Hoods and Caps are worn. Faculty will line the main aisle leading to the graduation platform. Graduates remain standing after arriving at their seats. (If inclement weather, line up in Hanson Recreation Center at 12:30 p.m.)
- Doors to Richard F. Scharf Alumni Fieldhouse open at Noon.
- Commencement Ceremony begins at 1 p.m. in the Richard F. Scharf Alumni Fieldhouse (handicapped seating available)
- Graduation Reception: Immediately following the commencement ceremony on the Core Educational Center patio. (In the event of inclement weather, this will be held in the Hanson Recreation Center.)
