SJC Business Network of Indianapolis is on tap for Wednesday, October 28, 6:00-8:00 pm. (Location TBA soon.) Unique to SJC business students, the Networks are recptions with area alumni that offer juniors and seniors opportunities to develop important networking skills.
Puma Poppers Production and Promo
For students in MKT 412 - Sales and Marketing Management lots of study and work is truly sweet. The final course in the marketing sequence turns student loose to make, market, advertise and sell Puma Popper chocolates. Profits from their efforts go to a charitable group selected by the students. See their print ads, listen to radio spots, and view the TV commercials.
The Walmart Effect
Economics students conducted a field research project that will documented the impact of Walmart on Rensselaer and the surrounding communities. The result: "Walmart saves people money and contributes positively to employment and earnings in local communities," says Simmie Border, a senior minoring in economics.

SIFE Leaders Host Free Enterprise Day
Students from area high schools will descend on campus this fall for Free Enterprise Day. Managed by SJC's Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) leaders, the day will involve design and promotion of a new business venture, capped by a presentation to judges.

Dr. Robert Schenk Blogs on Economics
Professor of Economics Robert Schenk's blog is getting noticed. Up and running for a while now, Cybereconomics documents commentary, news and analysis of various things economics. A popular blogger at The Atlantic, Megan McArdle recently caught sight of the blog and link to Dr. Schenk's story on the Minneapolis Fed.
