Program Admission

Candidates begin in Phase I of the program as first-semester freshmen.  To continue into Phase II (300 level + classes), candidates must meet the following requirements.

The education department reviews each candidate individually according to established criteria for admission to Phase II teacher education.  Present admission criteria include:

•    submission of INTASC portfolio,
•    cumulative G.P.A. of 2.75 by beginning of junior year,
•    satisfactory grades in all education field placements, and
•    passing scores on all three sub-tests of the Praxis I.

Admittance to the Teacher Education Program is required before a student is allowed to continue in the program.
